Whimsical Reindeer Blouse

This masterpiece of smocking comes from the village of San Pablo Tijaltepec in the Mixteca Alta region of Oaxaca, which is north along the Guerrero border. Deer figure prominently in the local iconography. Rocinante designed this piece that combines tradition with contemporary style. The smocking work is exquisite and perfect. The blouse features epaulettes and waist ties to adjust the fit. The cotton cloth is the best quality to be found in Mexico. Measures 23″ wide x 23″ long.
