Flowers Flowers Everywhere Zinacantan Blouse

A bodice filled with flowers in a cross-stitch pattern using a special embroidery machine that is hand-guided. An artisan actually creates the design as she goes, guiding the needle along the cloth. This takes exceptional skill and is considered a hand-made process. The base fabric is a periwinkle blue polyester which is what is preferred by the locals in Zinacantan, Chiapas. Here, there are hundreds of greenhouses where flowers are raised for export around the world. The blouse is not hemmed because the women here tuck their blouses into their skirts. Measures 26” wide c 28” long.
