Collector’s Tenejapa Heavily Brocaded Poncho, Chiapas

Handwoven on a backstrap loom in Tenejapa, Chiapas, this poncho is a knockout. You’ll never see anything like this again! It comes from a cooperative that has been keeping the weaving traditions of this community alive for over forty years. Notice the dense supplementary weft design and the finish work around the neck and sleeves. The sides are open for an easier drape and to take off and on. Wash on gentle or dry clean. Measures 28-1/2” wide x 28” long.
